Retailer: Russian market of smart speakers exceeds 4 bln rbl

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- The Russian market of smart speakers has exceeded 4 billion rubles and sales rocketed 170% on the year to 550,000 gadgets in January–August, electronics retailer M.Video-Eldorado Group said on Tuesday in a statement.

“The market of smart speakers with voice control is soaring, and in the money terms, this year it has already exceeded 4 billion rubles. At the moment, the Russian market offers more than a dozen smart speakers with the price from 4,000 to 20,000 rubles,” Sergei Sukhorukov, head of the seller’s department of entertainment and gadgets, said.

In August alone, the country’s retailers sold a record high of 90,000 units amid a release of new devices with the price of some 4,000 rubles. The average check amounted to 7,500 rubles.

Yandex Station Lite was the bestseller, M.Video-Eldorado said.
